2025 Mated Queen from Revival Queen Bees
Revival Queen Bees, located near Edmonton, Alberta, specializes in queens bred for Alberta’s unique environment. Their scientific background, combined with years of experience in commercial queen production, equips them to produce queens that enhance the health, production, and survivability of Alberta’s honey bee colonies. Through focused breeding programs, they prioritize traits that safeguard colonies against disease and winterkill, ensuring strong queens ready to help beekeepers take full advantage of the intense nectar flow on the Canadian Prairies.
What Breed Are Revival Queens?
Revival queens are open-mated, resulting in mixed breeds. Rather than focusing on specific breeds, Revival Queen Bees prioritizes traits important to Alberta beekeepers, such as productivity, temperament, and adaptability.
Why Choose Revival?
Revival Queen Bees takes pride in providing queens that are uniquely suited to the Alberta climate and beekeeping conditions. Here's why beekeepers trust Revival:
-
Carefully Bred with a Single Chain of Custody: Revival queens are raised in a small-scale, single-location operation near Edmonton. This focused approach ensures consistent care and quality, with every queen reared under a meticulous, single chain of custody from start to finish.
-
Adapted to Local Climate: These queens are specifically bred to thrive in Alberta's challenging weather conditions, contributing to healthier, more productive colonies. Breeder queens are carefully selected from thriving, gentle, high-producing colonies that have successfully survived and prospered through at least two Alberta winters.
-
Location Matters: By choosing queens bred in Alberta, beekeepers reduce the stress of long-distance transport, improving the overall health and survivability of the bees. In fact, these queens are never not in the care of a professional beekeeper. That means no stress of shipping and no periods without water.
-
Focused Selection: Traits like productivity, temperament, and adaptability are prioritized, making these queens ideal for Alberta's beekeeping community.
- Marked Queens: Each queen is blue dotted for easy tracking and identification.
Queen Guarantee
Revival queens are guaranteed to be alive at the time of shipping or pickup and, to the best of our knowledge, will be in good health. However, once the queens leave our care, we cannot guarantee:
-
Acceptance into your hive.
-
Performance or long-term health.
The introduction and success of queens depend on many factors, including shipping conditions and individual beekeeping practices. Please ensure you have the skills and knowledge required to handle and care for queen bees.
