Meet the Queen Breeder
Caroline Yelle of Pope Canyon Queens
Caroline Yelle is a trailblazer in the beekeeping industry and the passionate force behind Pope Canyon Queens, a renowned queen bee breeding operation. Located in Northern California, Pope Canyon Queens is celebrated for producing robust, healthy, and productive queens tailored to meet the needs of beekeepers across North America.

Caroline’s journey into queen rearing began with a deep respect for honeybee biology and the vital role queens play in hive success. Over the years, she has honed her craft through hands-on experience and collaboration with leading entomologists and beekeepers, ensuring her breeding practices are both innovative and sustainable.
Her queens are bred with a focus on traits that beekeepers value most: gentleness, disease resistance, brood production and superior honey production. By selecting for genetic diversity and resilience, Caroline has built a reputation for providing queens that thrive in various climates and conditions, from the lush vineyards of California to the rugged landscapes of Canada.
Caroline is also a dedicated educator and advocate for the beekeeping community. She frequently shares her expertise through workshops, speaking engagements, and mentorship programs, empowering beekeepers to improve their own operations with strong, healthy queens.
At Pope Canyon Queens, Caroline’s commitment to excellence is evident in every hive. Her work ensures that beekeepers, whether hobbyists or commercial producers, have access to queens that support healthy colonies and sustainable beekeeping practices. We're a big fan of her queens and we know you will be too!
