MiteGone® 162 Dry Pad Kit – Customizable Varroa Mite Control
MiteGone® pads provide a slow, steady release of formic acid to help control Varroa and Tracheal mites in honeybee colonies. Designed for use with 65% formic acid (sold separately), the pads are placed in the hive where they can release a gentle, consistent dose that targets mites while keeping your bees safe.
Why Beekeepers Choose MiteGone
- Continuous low-dose release: Pads emit a steady, tiny flow of formic acid fumes that knock mites off bees and sterilize them without harming the queen, brood, or drones.
- Easy to use: Hang 1–4 pads vertically in the available bee space between frames — no extra equipment needed.
- Long-lasting: Each pad provides 21–30 days of treatment, reaching mites in capped cells.
- Flexible dosage: Adjust the number of pads to treat small colonies, nucs, or larger hives.
- Safe storage & reuse: Dry pads have a 10-year shelf life and can be safely re-soaked if desired.
Important Notes
- Formic acid must be purchased separately (available here).
- Follow instructions carefully for safe handling and application.
- Use according to hive size and infestation level.
- Do not unwrap pads before use.
Recommended Hive Coverage
-
162-pad kit: Treats approximately 54 hives using 3 pads per hive, or 81 hives using 2 pads per hive, depending on hive size and infestation level.
