Important: Application Temperature
Formic Pro™ is temperature-sensitive during treatment.
Daytime temperatures must be between 10°C and 29.5°C during the first 3 days of treatment.
Do not apply when daytime temperatures are expected to exceed the recommended range. Temperatures of 33°C or higher during the first 3 days can increase the risk of excessive bee, brood, and queen loss.
Check the forecast before starting treatment and follow the product label carefully.
Before Treatment
-
Use Formic Pro™ only on sufficiently strong colonies. It is not recommended for newly established or weak colonies.
-
Ensure the colony has adequate food reserves before treatment.
-
Do not feed inside the hive during treatment.
-
Remove entrance reducers and mouse guards.
-
Provide a fully open entrance across the width of the hive, with a minimum entrance height of 1.3 cm (½").
-
Close screened bottom boards during treatment to help maintain the recommended treatment concentration.
-
Avoid disturbing the brood chamber during treatment.
Treatment Options
When local varroa thresholds are met, Formic Pro™ can be applied using one of two treatment options:
Option 1 — 14-Day Treatment
Place 2 treatment pads on the hive for 14 days.
Option 2 — Two 10-Day Treatments
Place 1 treatment pad for 10 days. Remove it and replace it with the second pad for an additional 10 days.
Follow the product label for proper placement and application.
Important Treatment Notes
Formic Pro™ can cause some temporary brood and adult bee mortality during treatment. Queen loss, queen supersedure, or other colony effects may also occur, particularly when treatment conditions are not suitable.
Do not use Formic Pro™ together with other miticides. Allow at least one month between miticide applications.
Do not disturb brood-chamber frames during treatment, except when changing the pad as required for Option 2.

Formic Pro™ contains formic acid and should be handled carefully.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
